Plakánek Valley with Kost Castle

Plakánek Valley with Kost Castle is a beautiful destination for a walk, such as from Vesec near Sobotka, a village with some very well preserved examples of folk architecture. Kost Castle was built at the end of the 14th century in the High Gothic style and is considered one of, if not the most well preserved castles in the country. Nowadays it still looks almost the same as it did 500 years ago. Although it is privately owned by the Kinský family, it can be visited on a standard guided tour. Exhibits include a large collection of historical firearms.
